Toxicological tests involving Jenna Bowling have been completed and according to Frasier, they show that her death on Feb. 5th was from natural causes, “as the result of ‘metabloic complications of diabetes mellitus.’” The report also shows she had in her system non-lethal amounts of Psilocin, the active ingredient in psychedelic mushrooms, Hydrocodone, marijuana and alcohol. “It appears that Jenna voluntarily took the drugs and alcohol, become intoxicated, and as a result of her intoxication, was not able to properly address her diabetes as it caused her blood sugar level to elevate to a fatal level.”

Deadliest Catch
By Susan Chambers
The public memorial for Capt. Phil Harris, one of fans' favorite captains on Discovery Channel's “Deadliest Catch” television show was more about celebration and laughter and not so much about tears and loss. Held at Pier 91 in Seattle on Friday, April 30, fans from Seattle and around the world showed up to pay their respects on a cold and blustery evening, prior to the second-annual CatchCon on Saturday. Both were hosted by Discovery Channel. Harris died in February after suffering a stroke. Harris was genuine, said friends and family – and fans appreciated his gruff but sincere nature. Discovery producer Paul Gasek said women from the office would flock to see him when he visited the channel's headquarters in Maryland. “Phil had a kind of teddy-bear-with-ink kind of thing going on,” he said, and the crowd laughed. Fans from the South Coast also appreciated that quality about him. When he visited Ray's in Bandon in April 2009, fans asked him questions about crabbing, got his autograph, bought his newly branded coffee and talked about his tattoos. He'd just gotten another one after the Ray's visit but before CatchCon 2009 at the end of April. His sons, Josh and Jake – deckhands on F/V Cornelia Marie on the show – said now the fans are also family and appreciated the support during their father's death. Discovery showed a brief program of highlights about Phil's life, excerpts from his time as captain of the Cornelia Marie and some of the conversations with his sons. At CatchCon the following day, fans of the show had the chance to talk with the captains, ask questions, get autographs, tour the F/V Wizard, captained by Keith Colburn, and the F/V Northwestern, captained by Sig Hansen, and take part in other events. Captains Andy and Johnathan Hillstrand were on the captains' panel and, new to the show this year, captain Bill Wichrowski of the F/V Kodiak made an appearance as well.
