Do You Know of Anyone Who Has Experienced an Open Heart Surgery?
Do you have a relative or friend who has cardiovascular or heart problems? If these folks are taking drugs daily for high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart problems including blood thinners to prevent stroke, you should find this issue worth reading. Feel free to share it with others.

Walt Edwards, Ph.D. - Dr. Health
Millions of people are taking several drugs to control their heart related problems instead of fixing the problem so they don't have to rely on drugs to reduce their symptoms. Essentially, these individuals end up on the operating table for open heart surgery, in a hospital bed recovering from a heart attack, or just dead.
Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans. A bold statement, but through proper lifestyle habits such as diet, exercise and the use of dietary supplements, it can be prevented. If you happen to have relatives that have a history of heart or cardiovasclular problems then it's even more important to live a preventive life style of diet and exercise as well as follow a strong supplement regimen.
There are four foundational supplements to consider for cardiovascular health: A good multi-vitamin/mineral with a B complex of at least 25 mg to 50 mg (which contains B-6, B-12, and Folic Acid to prevent homocysteine), a good grade of Omega-3s, antioxidants (e.g., coenzyme Q10 [CoQ10]) and hawthorn. The logic behind these four foundational supplements is to use ingredients that target the many possible weaknesses of the cardiovascular system. Omega-3s are highly regarded as effective at preventing and mitigating most hearth-health concerns. They can support healthy blood pressure, cholesterol and other heart-health concerns; and are a critical component to building and maintaining the cardiovascular system as a whole.
Homocysteine is an amino acid in the blood. Epidemiological studies have shown that too much homocysteine in the blood (plasma) is related to a higher risk of coronary heart disease, stroke and peripheral vascular disease. Other evidence suggests that homocysteine may have an effect on atherosclerosis by damaging the inner lining of arteries and promoting blood clots. However, a direct causal link hasn't been established. Plasma homocysteine levels are strongly influenced by diet, as well as by genetic factors. The dietary components with the greatest effects are folic acid and vitamins B6 and B12. Folic acid and other B vitamins help break down homocysteine in the body. Several studies have found that higher blood levels of B vitamins are related, at least partly, to lower concentrations of homocysteine. Other recent evidence shows that low blood levels of folic acid are linked with a higher risk of fatal coronary heart disease and stroke.
Antioxidants are imperative for neutralizing free radicals that are linked to reeking havoc on veins, arteries and the heart. Free radicals act like pins floating in the bloodstream and prick the walls of everything blood touches. These little pinpricks get inflamed and eventually lead to plaque buildup. This inflammation action can be measured by a High Sensitive C-reactive protein blood test. The trial, called Jupiter, involved almost 18,000 people. They all had high levels of a protein called hsCRP - high sensitivity C-reactive protein which is linked to inflammation in the arteries.
Spikes in CRP levels are an early sign of inflammation in your body. That's why CRP is such a good indicator. We can evaluate heart health using CRP levels better than with cholesterol levels. The New England Journal of Medicine published a massive study on CRP. Almost 28,000 people participated in the trial. Researchers discovered that CRP predicted cardiovascular health better than LDL cholesterol.
Natural Recommendations To Reduce inflammation Are: Sedona Labs SerraPhase, Source Naturals RejuvenZyme, Quercetin, Tumeric/curcimin, and Nattokinase. Other supplements helpful for circulatory health are CoQ10, Super Omega 3 fish oil, Essential Fatty Acids, Gingko Biloba and Hawthorne.
Lastly, hawthorn has long been revered as a cardiovascular tonic. Tonics support the overall health and strengthen organ's natural functions. Hawthorn seems to positively impact the strength of the heart and support healthy blood pressure levels. Regretfully, many wait too long to begin a hearth-health program and require a more aggressive approach. There are numerous risk factors attributed to cardiovascular disease (CVD). As a result, supplements should be directed toward specific risk factors. For high cholesterol, time-released niacin or garlic in addition to the three foundational supplements may be necessary. Do note, "no-flush" niacin (Inositol hexaniacinate) has no effect on supporting cholesterol levels.
The next biggest concern would be high blood pressure. Besides losing weight, decreasing sodium intake, reducing stress levels and getting more activity, adding key supplements to the foundation is critical. Using supplements like magnesium, olive leaf, reishi and garlic would be a great start. Picking the right one may be difficult unless the root cause of high blood pressure is known. In most cases, using supplements with a blend of these types of ingredients instead of each one by itself is the usual recommendation.
Of all the conditions that make up CVD, stroke is one of the more devastating. Supplements such as nattokinase, folic acid, and vitamins B12 and B6 are a step in the right direction. Nattokinase is the most important. The enzyme is capable of breaking down and dissolving blood clots formed in a vessel or heart chamber and can enhance the body's natural ability to fight clotting of the blood. Unlike the class of medications called antithrombin, nattokinase produces a prolonged action (lasting from eight to 12 hours) in preventing coagulation of blood and dissolving existing clots.
Knowing the signs of stroke is crucial, as prompt treatment is necessary to help reduce the damage that can be caused by a "brain attack." Be aware of these classic stroke symptoms:
Sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes.
Weakness or numbness on one side of the body, including the face.
Difficulty speaking.
Sudden disorientation, confusion or memory loss.
Dizziness, loss of balance or loss of coordination.
Severe headache that comes on suddenly with no apparent cause.
The American Stroke Association suggests that anyone can identify a stroke by checking for the signs of facial weakness, arm weakness and speech problems. As a bystander, you can help to determine if someone is having a stroke by asking them to perform three simple actions: 1. Ask the person to smile, 2. Ask the persons to raise both arms above his or her head, 3. Ask the person to speak a simple sentence.
Rosacea - A chronic and persistent condition in which a person's cheeks, nose, chin, eyelids or forehead become inflamed and red - tends to be more common in women, people between the ages of 30 and 50 and those with fair skin who blush easily. While there is no cure, rosacea can be controlled by avoiding triggers and, occasionally, with medication.Common triggers that worsen rosacea include: Alcohol, Spicy foods, Coffee and caffeinated beverages, Hot foods and beverages,Strenuous exercise, Extreme temperatures, Chronic Stress, Sunlight or a history of sunburns, and certain drugs, such as corticosteroids and some blood pressure medications.
To minimize flares of rosacea, avoid the above triggers, protect your face from harsh elements, use sunscreen, manage stress levels and use products that are hypo-allergenic. Dr. Weil also recommends following an anti-inflammatory diet; supplementing with Evening Primrose oil or Black Currant oil - take 500 mg twice a day of either, and expect to wait at least six to eight weeks to notice results. Also, using topical preparations that utilize natural anti-inflammatory constituents, such as medicinal mushrooms. Other anti-inflammatory supplements can be considered.
Chakra Energy Candles
Chakra energy candles combine metaphysics with aromatherapy and can facilitate psychic and physical healing. They are enhanced with essential oil blends selected for their aromatherapy benefits relative to balancing each chakra. As the chakra energy candles burn they release beneficial, therapeutic vapors.
Rules for Being Human
When you were born, you didn't come with an owner's manual, these guidelines make life work better: 1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it's the only thing you are sure to keep for the rest of your life. 2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called "Life on Planet Earth". Each day you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons, or think them irrelevant and stupid. Every person or incident is a Teacher. 3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial and error; experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately "works." 4. A lesson is repeated until learned. It is presented to you in various forms until you learn it - then you can go on to the next lesson. 5. If you don't learn easy lessons, they get harder. External problems are a precise reflection of your internal state. When you clear inner obstructions, your outside world changes. Pain is how the universe gets your attention.
