04MAY2001 Duh is going to cause us all to be investigated...
...while he should have his brains examined. For the United States to be bumped from the UN's Human Rights say should be telling the American people the world is quick losing confidence in us. For openers they saw a Supreme Court "coup" in which our Democracy and electoral process surfaced as less than democratic. Then they saw us rip the guts out of health for women and children. Then they saw us gut environmental protections. Then they saw us undo all the nuclear war deterrants the world has struggled to set in place over the past four decades. The United States in the eyes of the world is quickly actualizing as THE rogue nation on the face of the earth. Are we beginning to know what it felt like to be a good German yet? How long might we look the other and find ourselves in a state of denial over what a monsterous governing body has taken over We the Peoples' government?
Texas was at the heart of the Kennedy assassination. Look at Texas, folks. Look at the dagger Duh and Company stuck so deep in the heart of Texas. Law West of the Pecos, Texas, is at the heart of making the United States into a Texas. Does that mean we'll all be Texans before Duh and Company are through playing out their imposition of worldwide and domestic madness?

Subject: Gorman: More Holes in Peru Plane Story
On February 19, authentic journalist Peter Gorman, who has spent much
of the past 18 years in the Iquitos region of Peru, near the
Colombian border, wrote a story for The Narco News Bulletin that
raised a lot of eyebrows at the time. Gorman reported that U.S.-paid
mercenaries, from the private sector, were assembled in the Iquitos
region with "shoot-to-kill" orders as part of the U.S.-imposed "Plan
Colombia" military intervention program.
Some people found that story hard to believe - nothing had been
reported in the U.S. media about it until then. But today, now that
Veronica and Charity Bowers, from a dedicated family of Baptist
missionaires, lost their lives last month when U.S. CIA-sponsored
private contractors were involved in the events leading to a shoot-
down of their plane - purportedly for drugs, although there were no
drugs - Gorman's story now makes perfect sense to everyone. In fact,
for the first time, the U.S. media is reporting on the matter of
private-sector mercenaries in the Iquitos region.
This latest report from Gorman will also be accepted by history as
the best and most knowledgeable analysis of what the United States
government is doing with an atrocity-in-progress called Plan Colombia.
The consequences of this information reach high - Gorman suggests the
missionaries' small aircraft may have been shot down intentionally to
frighten and remove other potential eyewitnesses from the border
region in preparation for the Plan Colombia atrocities yet to come.
But let the chips fall where they may, and let the heavens fall.
Better the heavens than innocent citizens who fell from Amazon skies
days ago. This is your war. This is your war on drugs.

02MAY2001 Why it is??
In behalf of the killer rich of this country, the Duh administration has essentially declared a war of greed on everyone except their own kind, and world wide. The purpose of the Duh administration is to line the pockets of the (present) owners of the Energy Kompanies including the coal, gas, and foreign and domestic petroleum operations stretching from Texas, Sa'udi Arabia and Alaska too. Secondly, the purpose of the Duh administration is to line the pockets of the (present) owners of the the killer rich Military Industrial Komplex Defense Kontractors as directed from the bowels of the Pentagon.
StarWars is only the tip of the melting icebergs.
01MAY2001 May Day! May Day!
Click, click
WTO'ers, the anti-StarWars bunch and environmentalists have a lot to protest these days, and it's an all too easy process keeping track of it all. Just listen to Duh and Company; whatever they propose, know it is not in the best interest of the American people or anyone else in the world. Duh's Kapitalist Military Industrial Komplex buddies, and their friends in the oil and nuke business wish to squander our energy resources to justify 100 ways to put billions into their own pockets at the expense of the taxpayer and the utility rate payers.
It is encouraging that people are taking to the streets world wide, and that legitimate governments are not going along with Duh's environmental and StarWars schemes.
In the memory of none except Card Carrying Communists of the 1920s and 30s and students of history has the political tide's ebb shown justice this much favor. Should we be concerned about the "mainstream" asleep while history pases them by? Not really. They're doing the rest of a favor by not caring one way or the other and by staying out of our way.
The war in Vietnam (and Laos) had been going on for years before the real protests started and more years passed before the protests became effective. Time goes faster now. The admirable protests today of the Texas, White House and Pentagon piggery should by next year at this time mushroom into a great cloud to rain on their parade like they've never known.
30APR2001 Everything you need to know about the international workers' day on the net
Happy May Day, especially to any of the international brotherhood of workers out there.
Like many important dates in our diaries, May Day started out as a pagan festival that was co-opted into a later ideology: this time socialism.
Its origins lie in 19th century North America where, on May 1 1886, workers declared strikes across the United States and Canada to press for an eight-hour day. In Chicago police attacked the striking workers and killed six.
The following day a bomb exploded at a demonstration at the Chicago haymarket, killing eight policemen. The police arrested eight trade unionists: four were found guilty of murder and executed by the state of Illinois.
In 1889, the international working men's association declared May 1 an international workers holiday in commemoration of the Haymarket Martyrs. The red flag became the symbol (enshrined in song by Irishman James Connell) of the blood of heroes who died for the working-class cause.
"The people's flag is deepest red / It shrouded oft our martyred dead" - it's a far cry from the happy-go-lucky business of Morris dancing and the maypole.
Both its pagan and socialist roots slipped out of the British consciousness as May Day became just another spring bank holiday. Only the annual display of Soviet military might in Red Square gave it a remotely workers' dimension.
But now, following the Seattle WTO meeting and last year's action in London, May Day will be marked by a protest against global capitalism in the capital.
No law says it should be a happy day. F Scott Fitzgerald's "May Day" drew upon the author's feelings of failure during the spring of 1919 when he was working for a New York advertising agency.
Or indeed a socialist one: on May Day 1997 New Labour came to power.

29APR2001 Exercising Consumer Clout - Clark Howard's non-endorsement of gasoline boycott
Last year or so ago, a "gasoline boycott" proposal was floating about the Internet. This year's version has a different twist. Coincidentally, I heard Clark Howard today discussing that which is being floated as Internet spam and in his name that he doesn't necessarily
disagree with BUT he didn't write it and neither did any the ClarkSmart staffers. Clark has not called for a boycott of certain gas companies. Instead, he suggests that you follow these steps to save money on fuel. More ClarkSmart info on fuel costs. Both of these links will give you an opportunity to see what Clark's site is about if you've never visited him before.
Gasoline Prices
