Lakeside’s economy is tourism based. Visitors primarily come to Lakeside for outdoor activities associated with Tenmile Lake and the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, which include waterskiing, jetskiing, beachcombing, camping, fishing, hunting, boating, hiking, scuba diving, dune riding, wind surfing, horseback riding, swimming, picnicking, and sightseeing.

Eight miles south of Reedsport on Hwy 101; attributes include Eel Lake and spruce, cedar, fir, and alder forests; 94 campsites with electric and water hookups; 16 yurts; a hiker/biker camp. Spinreel OHV Campground

Eleven miles south of Reedsport; enter off Hwy 101; OHV dune access; trail to the beach; 36 tent, auto, and trailer sites; facilities: potable drinking water, flush toilets, garbage containers, fire rings, a recycle center, and tables. recreation.gov or (877) 444-6777 - reservations and information. Open all year.
