Port Orford, Oregon

Port Orford Oregon

Port Orford is located on the south Oregon coast at the northern end of what locals call the Banana Belt, so named because the weather from Port Orford south is significantly warmer than the weather to the north. The population in Port Orford is relatively small (approximately 1,200). Its economy primarily revolves around commercial fishing and tourism. The port is an open water dock and the only dry-dock port on the west coast. Port Orford is adjacent to Cape Blanco and home to Port Orford Heads State Park.
